Jeffy Yu, founder of Zerebro, was discovered alive at his parents’ San Francisco home after staging a suicide during a livestream on Pump.fun. The event had sparked viral eulogies and a commemorative memecoin launch.

Reporters from the San Francisco Standard confronted Yu on May 7, noting his visible surprise. The elaborate hoax included a glowing online obituary praising his contributions to AI crypto culture.
